This weekend I drove down to Santa Cruz to a U-Pick strawberry farm. It was a little breezy and very foggy, but we had a ton of fun. It was totally worth it to be able to pick the reddest, most ripe berries in the field. I filled a whole box. When I went back to weigh in it was 8.5 lbs of strawberries. That is a lot of berries for one person. Yesterday we made good use of our strawberries by making crepes. So good! I also brought them to work with me to feed my co-workers. I also gave my one roommate who is town free reign to eat them all. There are still a lot left over. I guess I need to freeze them tonight, before they go bad.
It was a good use of a day! Oh, I also cut off a few more inches of hair Saturday night. I will have to take another picture. It is hard to believe that a year ago my hair was at least a foot longer than it is now. I am now sporting a very stubby little ponytail.
Don’t freeze – make JAM! Do you need a recipe? Really fast and easy. How much were they per pound?
